My wife, Paula and I met in graduate school. She is trained as a secondary English teacher, and enjoys her free-lance work as a manuscript evaluator for a Christian publishing company. Together we have served in pastoral ministry for nearly 25 years. We are passionate about prayer, Bible study, and small group ministry. We are delighted to be part of the HBIC family and are truly excited about what God is doing in this place. Our hobbies include running, biking, and other outdoor activities. Our two teenage sons, Jordan and Matthew, love music, snow skiing, making friends, and travel.

I came on staff at Hempfield in July of 2009. I married my best friend Julie the day before the blizzard of 1996! We were stuck right here in Lancaster, PA at the Willow Valley Resort for our honeymoon. We are natives of Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Julie graduated from Messiah College and is currently a stay-at-home mom. I graduated from Shippensburg University and initially pursued to be a math teacher as a platform for ministry to teenagers but have since been involved with ministry at various levels. As a couple we have served in pastoral ministry since 1997. We're committed to helping others live out their faith in Christ and to develop genuine relationships with one another along the journey. We have five wonderful children, Josiah, Hannah, Grace, Rylie, and Noelle. Some of our interests are running, coaching, volleyball, cooking, watching movies, music, playing games, & laughing together.

Leslie and her family have been attending Hempfield since January 2003. The friendly vibe of the congregation drew them in and strong Biblical teaching has kept them there ever since. Leslie’s husband Matt is a math teacher at Lancaster Mennonite High School and the love of her life! Leslie has two tiny kids that keep her hopping and always laughing – Simeon and Sophia. Before having children, she taught middle school English and reading at Conestoga Valley Middle School for eight years. Though having two small kids leaves little time for hobbies, Leslie does enjoy sports of all kinds, reading, music, cooking, and crafts. Leslie has been heavily involved in the young children's ministry as a volunteer. She is now joining our staff part time to provide additional direction and oversight for this exciting ministry. My wife Megan and I met in an outdoor sporting goods store as she was preparing to serve at a summer camp. It was the mutual life calling and passion for ministry, which God had instilled in each of us, that forged an instant bond between us. From our very first visit to Hempfield, in early 2003, the genuine warmth and acceptance we felt from people made it obvious that God was doing something special here. Since that time, Hempfield has become a real home for us and we have deeply involved ourselves in the life giving ministry taking place here everyday. As I continue to pursue my ministerial training, I am excited to be gaining practical experience here at Hempfield. When taking a break from work and study, I enjoy connecting with others through rock climbing, ice hockey, and Boston Red Sox baseball.

Lisa and Husband Randy began attending Hempfield in 1992. During their time here at Hempfield Lisa and Randy have been active in several areas of ministry, Sunday school teachers for children and youth, youth group leaders, kitchen committee chair and nursery helpers. The prayer, love and support that were given to them made them want to be an official part of Hempfield in 1996 after the death of their 3rd child Hunter. They have four children: Scott, Laura, Tyler and Cody.
In August 2002, Lisa took on the position of Administrative Assistant here at Hempfield.

My husband, Rich, and I met at a nearby Christian singles fellowship in 1992 and married in 1994. We have been members of Hempfield BIC Church since 1999 and have come to think of this church as our family. I have served in music ministry since I was a teenager, and have long felt the call to glorify God in music. I was asked to help lead worship at Hempfield shortly after we began attending here, and have been impressed with the heart for worship expressed by this congregation ever since. I had the opportunity to go to Uganda with a team from Hempfield in June of 2009 and share music with them in a gift of a guitar for the church we worked with. It was amazing to worship God with brothers & sisters on the far side of Africa. I enjoy music, making jewelry and connecting with friends over dinner. My husband enjoys carving soapstone and collecting artifacts. We both enjoy reading and movies, and love to laugh together.
